about

One of Science & Progress’s two EPs, this one created in 2011 and given out in CD format to our friends at a small show at Nik’s house.

In They Said We'd Never Make It (named for a line in “67” referencing our notoriously troublesome high school graduating class), we deliberately stripped down the recording to just the plain sounds of vocals, piano, and acoustic guitar, with no double-tracking, to approximate the sound of one of our live acoustic sets. That means you won’t hear Matt Weisser, our amazing drummer who played with us at our occasional shows between 2009 and 2012.

The track list and recording methods overlap quite a bit with our debut EP, 2010’s Tales from the Caboose (not available online). But “Spanish Nights” (from Nik) and “67” (from Evan) are new additions to this EP.
